Rudi Thomaes

Rudi Thomaes

Rudi Thomaes served as the CEO of the Belgian employers’ federation (FEB-VBO) and as Regent of the National Bank of Belgium from 2004 till 2012. He previously served as Managing Director and Chairman of the management committee of Alcatel Bell. He is currently non-executive Director at Umicore, Chairman of the Belgian Chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce, president of the Board at Armonea and president of the Board at REstore. Rudi represents Rothco BVBA.

Philippe Darmayan

Philippe Darmayan

Philippe Darmayan brings 35 years of experience to REstore as a former manager, senior executive and director for large and energy-intensive businesses and as a leader of industry transformation projects. From 2011 till 2014, Philippe served as Chief Executive Officer for Aperam, one of the world's leading stainless steel producers. He is currently the president of the Board at ArcelorMittal France, the President of the French Industry Federation (GFI) and a member of the Board of the French Employer’s Federation (MEDEF). He started his career at Pechiney Group as a plant manager.

Paul Carpentier

Paul Carpentier

Paul is a serial entrepreneur on a persistent quest for simple solutions to complex problems. After ten years as founder and CTO of Caringo, Inc. the Austin-based object storage software company, he currently is founder and CEO of Esoptra (in stealth mode). In the late 1980s, at TechGnosis, he co-architected SequeLink, pioneering client/server middleware. In the 1990s, Paul founded Wave Research to create FileWave: innovative model-driven software distribution. FilePool developed the technology that earned his name as the father of Content Addressable Storage. The 2001 acquisition by EMC turned CAS into a multi-billion dollar market. Paul Carpentier now holds 24 patents at the core of object storage. As the very first investor in REstore he continued to raise funds across all capital rounds. He also serves on the Board of Xenit NV. Paul represents ETA NV.

Stijn Bijnens

Stijn Bijnens

Stijn Bijnens serves as the CEO of LRM from 2008 and was a member of the board from 1999. He founded Ubizen and served as its CEO from 1995 until its merger with Cybertrust in 2004. He was Senior Vice President of Identity Management at Cybertrust and then VP Security Solutions at Verizon Business when it acquired Cybertrust in 2007. He was named ‘Manager of the Year’ in 1999 by Trends Magazine and also received the DataNews Award of Excellence for a Startup Company.  From 1992 to 1995, he researched network security and object oriented distributed systems at KULeuven and Trinity College Dublin. He received a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from KULeuven. Stijn represents LRM Beheer NV.

Wim Heyselberghs

Wim Heyselberghs

Wim brings extensive energy market and energy trading experience to the REstore board. He has worked in many different functions in the energy sector in both regulated and deregulated environments. He was specifically involved in the development of the international activities of Tractebel (EGI, now ENGIE) where he was responsible for distribution, trading and transport operations, and later on as member of the executive committee (CEO EGI). He founded Nuon in Belgium in 2002 and obtained construction permits for the first CCGT/IGCC plant with CO₂ capture in the UK (C.GEN) in 2014.

Jan-Willem Rombouts

Jan-Willem Rombouts

Jan-Willem Rombouts co-founded REstore and serves as its co-CEO after a career at Goldman Sachs where he last served as Executive Director of Credit Trading Strategy. He brings expertise in quantitative modeling and software development. At REstore Jan-Willem leads the product innovation, technology development and trading activities. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from NYU and a graduate certificate in Data Mining and Applications from Stanford University.

Pieter-Jan Mermans

Pieter-Jan Mermans

Prior to co-founding REstore in 2010, Pieter-Jan Mermans worked as a case manager at Arthur D. Little and PwC, where he contributed to developing BU strategies and Post Merger Integration work in the Power & Petrochemicals sectors. At REstore, Pieter-Jan serves as a co-CEO, leading the business expansion and driving Regulatory Affairs. He holds a M.Sc. in Commercial Engineering from University of Antwerp and a M.Sc. in Financial Economics from University of Leuven.

Geert Ramault has a solid commercial and business development track record over 15 years in the energy and technology sector in both Europe and the Americas. He joined REstore in its early days and helped kick-start its commercial roll-out and rapid market expansion that propelled the company to its current industry-leading position. Prior to REstore, he held management positions in several early-stage high-tech companies and led multiple high-performance teams in various countries. Geert received his MSc in Electrical Engineering from Ghent University and holds an MBA from Vlerick Business School.

Helen Park

Helen Park

VP Internet of Things

Helen brings more than 20 years of business development and sales experience from the technology, renewable energy and industrial IoT sectors. Previously, she served as Senior Director of Strategic Alliances at Silver Spring Networks, a leading smart grid and IoT networking company based in Silicon Valley.  She also managed sales for Bosch Solar Energy, North America and was a co-founder of Walkwire, an internet solutions company.

Marc Crauwels

Vice-President Utility Sales

Marc has a degree in Computer Science and a degree in Mathematics/Actuarial Science. He started building his career in the financial services industry and later on specialized in the energy and utilities space predominantly focussing on billing and meter data management solutions. At the same time, he has been involved in portfolio management, asset management and asset valorisation for the larger global utilities companies. He has an extensive background in deploying products for the energy and utilities industry.

Over the past 20 years, Donald has held various international managerial positions giving him a broad experience across multiple industries in companies such as HeidelbergCement, PPG and Lhoist. He brings to REstore solid sales skills blended with a strong financial focus. He has lived and worked across Europe in multicultural and multinational settings.

Benoit Menu

Benoit Menu

Vice-President Sourcing France

Benoit leads the development of REstore activities in the French market and manages the Paris office. Before joining the company he was in charge of commercial development at the Demand Response business unit of E.On. He has 15 years experience of the French electricity market from the beginning of deregulation and has managed power supplier activity for B2B power intensive consumers. He holds an engineering degree from ENSAM (Arts et Métiers).

Dirk Rosenstock

Vice-President Business Development Germany

Dirk comes from Germany and brings to REstore more than 16 years' experience in the energy industry and 12 years in industrial automation. He knows the German energy market and business with large industrial consumers following his work in sales for EnBW and EDF. Most recently, he was responsible at EnBW AG for the development of new business areas in energy efficiency, electric mobility, smart home and decentralised energy systems. Prior to his time in the energy sector, he worked as project manager and sales representative in charge of industrial automation at Siemens, ABB and Philips. At REstore he is responsible for the development of business activities in Germany. He trained as an engineer with a degree in Plant Operations Engineering from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.

Louis has a breadth of experience in downstream energy markets including supply, services, efficiency, renewables and smart metering. He was previously in the leadership team at Semplice Energy guiding them to a planned acquisition by British Gas. Thereafter, at British Gas, Louis held various management roles covering bid submissions, sales, proposition development, market development and marketing in both domestic and commercial segments.

Tom is a senior software engineer with a civil engineering degree from KULeuven, Belgium. Tom held positions as a software engineer and team leader with several companies in the utility, banking/insurance and engineering sectors including Nuon,  ING, IBM-Skillteam and Altran CIS. Tom represents Nubium BVBA.

Peter Schell

Vice-President Regulatory Affairs

Peter comes from Germany with an extensive leadership experience in the European energy sector focusing on the interaction between new energy technology and regulatory change. He has been active in the energy sector for the last 15 years in the distribution sector for the liberalisation of gas and electricity markets, the unbundling of retail and distribution, and in the transmission sector providing innovative smart-grid technology and arguing for the required regulatory changes to allow its adoption. Peter holds an aerospace engineering degree from the University of Stuttgart. Peter represents Sirocco BVBA.

Wim De Naeyer is a Maître en Gestion - Option Finance (University Paris IX Dauphine, 1996), an international taxation graduate from ESSF/Ichec Brussels and a Business Analysis graduate (Lancaster University, 1997). After several years at PWC Brussels in audit and at the corporate finance department of BNP Paribas Brussels, he worked for more than 12 years with Altice/Numericable/Coditel/Completel in France, Belgium and Luxembourg as Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director. Wim represents Wissa BVBA.    

Vanessa Peffer

Vanessa Peffer

Vanessa has deep knowledge of the energy sector in charge for 15 years of power derivatives on the trading floors of Electrabel, GDF Suez Trading and ING. Over that period, she has specialised herself in the European power sector, being a point of advise to traders on deal capture and transactions.  At REstore she is responsible for the continuous optimisation of the bids offered to grid operators and balancing responsible parties across Europe.

Liene Donckers

Liene Donckers

Liene has a solid track record of 11 years building strong brands and creating awareness and engagement with customers. She first served as a account director translating the business objectives of her B2B and B2C clients at global advertising agencies including McCann-Erickson, Euro RSCG and Duval Guillaume. Afterwards she built her career on the advertiser-side succesfully setting up marketing plans and leading pan-European marketing campaigns for both lead generation and enhanced brand awareness with brands like Beko, KBC and Q8.
